生态治理转型期背景下，溯源西方自然区域保护与旅游关系的理论逻辑具有一定现实意义。在二者关系动态演化与社会建构的哲学论基础上，通过对英文文献中的理论与实践互动进行历史比较，绘制了自然区域保护与旅游关系的知识演进图谱。研究发现：自然区域保护与旅游的关系研究形成了“理论互斥—共识共治—新自由主义风险”三个典型的理论演进阶段，旅游相应被视为物理干扰、社会工具和正义实践的角色。演进过程围绕有效保护的终极目标，在可持续发展和社会合作治理的框架中展开，演进动力源于理论与实践的反复差距与调试。本文为启发本土研究超越科学主义的简化思维，从社会复杂性理论层面关注现实实践，形成本土化生态文明理论成果提供了知识进路。
